How Real Science Became Fake News

Is is just coincidence that the 1st amendment prevents the government from prohibiting the free exercise of religion, or from preventing the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for grievances against it?

Is it possible that the suppression of information has always been seen as an absolute evil that needed to be guarded against; even from the earliest days of America’s founding? Nowadays most institutions are granted full access to determine and control what they consider to be “truth”, and are likewise assume equal power to silence any voice that disagrees with their narrative.

Such power might be appealing if it is “our” group that is holding the reigns. However, we have to remember that regimes can change overnight, and we have to think about what happens when the “other guys” start abusing this power? Given recent events and the current state of affairs in the world, isn’t it time we take the access to free information more seriously, and with it, the skill of civil discourse and the open exchange of ideas? We absolutely think so, and here’s why…
